It plays like you remember

Under the hood it's Horizon, an open-source engine that rebuilt the game from scratch and checks itself against the original with hundreds of tests. Your old seeds make the same worlds, and your farms work like they always did.

FAQ

Is this Minecraft?

No. It's its own open-source game, with none of Minecraft's files inside. It plays the way you remember because its engine rebuilt the rules from scratch. Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.

Does it cost anything?

No.

Do I need an account?

No. Open it and play.

Will mods work?

Yes. Mods made for Horizon work on every device, and modpacks open in one tap. Fabric mods are experimental on PC, through Horizon Java Bridge.

Is it open source?

Yes. The code is MIT and the art is CC BY-SA. Everyone who made it is on the About page.
